International Day of the Girl Networking Event
Celebrating International Day of the Girl – Networking Event
To celebrate International Day of the Girl we will be hosting a networking event for students (years 9 – 13), where they will have the chance to come and meet with some of our Modern Muses to find out more about their careers, highlights, goals and challenges in the workplace.
The event will take place on the 11 October, 2:00pm – 4:00pm, at our offices in Canary Wharf.
The Credit Suisse Modern Muse program, in parthership with the Credit Suisse European Womens Network and IT womens Champions provided a week long work experience from 15th to 19th Jul. The event was extended to 30 girls both internal and external candidates from diverse backgrounds and ages ranging from 15 to 17. The girls were invited into the Credit Suisse office to obtain a more detailed understanding of what a career in a financial institution would actually consist of.
The schedule included insights into the roles supporting the life cycle of a trade, the extensive diversity and inclusion network's available, campus recruitment, Donna presenting more about the Modern Muse program, as well as 'on the job' activities within technology and more.
The students were tasked with presenting, in teams, what they had learnt during the week in the large auditorium, a daunting task even for the seasoned presenter. The presentations were outstanding, the students were confident, articulate and creative which demonstrated not only the retention of what they had leant but also their clear understanding.
The students also actively embraced the concept and importance of networking, a theme which persisted throughout the week.
The success of the event was attributed to over 40 Credit Suisse Volunteers who gave up their time in support of encouraging, inspiring and motivating the next generation female business leaders, entrepeneurs and FTSE 100 CEOs.
Thanks to all of the volunteers involved.
And a huge thanks to all of the students who (See more)put in so much into this event and got so much out. Well done

The Credit Suisse Modern Muse program held an inspirational panel event on 29 March as part of the International Women’s Day ‘Balance for better’ theme. The internal panel consisted of four motivational women sharing their diverse life and career journeys. Over 40 girls attended from a variety of schools from in and around London to hear some fantastic tips about different routes to success, hurdles the panellists have overcome during their work life and striving to be the best you can be by not selling yourself short.
Thank you to all the amazing girls and schools who attended and participated in the day.

28 Jan As part of a Credit Suisse volunteering team I spent a day supporting CV writing and interview skills at a girls school in North London. Meeting so many amazing girls with such ambitions for the future was a pleasure which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The Credit Suisse Modern Muse Program in partnership with the Credit Suisse IT Women’s Council and EWN are running the next ‘Day in the Life at CS’ workshop on the February 1 and February 8, 2019.
The workshop is for girls who are aged between 14 - 16 (year’s 9 – 11) and 16 -18 (year’s 12-13) respectively.
Within the interactive session, the students will have the chance to hear from Credit Suisse staff from different backgrounds and departments about their roles at Credit Suisse, Campus recruitment and the opportunity to participate in an number of activities such as:
The importance of Wellbeing at work
Working In Change
Protecting your Brand
This is a great Muse event which are are looking forward to holding.
Working in Credit Suisse, an organization which supports the development of next generation females, has provided the opportunity to meet role models as well as be a role model. Here I am at the House of Lords in Nov 2018 meeting Jodie Whittaker and then with Baroness Lawrence and Baroness Finlay inspiring and motivating girls for a debate on ‘Girls Breaking Barriers: How can we ensure that girls and young women are able to achieve their potential in the UK and around the world?’ held in the actual chamber. It was an amazing day.
