Consultants act as doctors for businesses - we examine their symptoms, diagnose their problems and prescribe treatments, which can be preventative or curative.
For example, with the Client I am currently working on:
Symptom - inability to adapt to compliance changes
Diagnosis - old systems, which cannot be easily changed
Treatment - input of new system which can be easily updated to changes in compliance and/or market
My current job is rewarding as I am constantly challenged and able to try out new roles, which means I am constantly learning
After graduating from University of Bristol I wanted to find a career that challenged and motivated me. I chose the Deloitte graduate scheme as within the two years there are constant opportunities to change roles and develop new skills.
For me, it was important to work for a company which places a lot of importance on personal development. Deloitte places emphasis on personal development and cultivating more junior talent. I love to travel, so I always wanted to work for an international company with opportunities to move abroad.

When I was at school I wanted to be a doctor. I had a strong background in sciences and wanted to use these skills while helping people. I soon realised there were so many other ways to do this i.e. through technology!
Investigate as many options as possible from an early age - particularly listening to people's experiences in different careers and seeing what would suit me.
