I started this job when I was 15, as a waitress. I served food and drinks at all sorts of corporate events and parties such as weddings. I was then asked to take on more responsibility and before I knew it I was in charge of 60 part time staff. I organised rotas and guided new starters. I was also in charge of making sure all staff were presented correctly and trained them to provide high levels of client servicing.
After completing my A Levels in June 2018, I gave myself one week of summer before applying for a temporary marketing role at Specsavers. As an executive, I was able to proof and sign off artwork, as well as inputting creative briefs into our internal systems. I answered the phone in order to deal with inquiries from media and PR agencies, and store partners. • I assisted senior marketing managers with the implementation and planning of local, cluster and divisional marketing.
In September 2018, I moved internally to be a Digital Marketing Apprentice. The recruitment for this role was an extremely competitive process and so I was extremely happy when I found out I got it. This scheme means that Specsavers are going to train me on the job towards a degree in Digital Marketing. I will gain experience in all areas of our Digital Marketing team, as well as being sent to multiple external training/media agencies. I can't wait to be able to say I have a degree in Digital Marketing, and for the places it may take me!

I am a hardworking and highly motivated individual. I bring resourceful, creative and practical skills and take great pride in my good communication skills and organisational abilities, which enable me to be a confident and reliable person. I put my best into everything that I do.
Island life is stunning but it also makes it extremely expensive to get off island and go to university. This is why I am so happy that I am able to do an on island degree with Specsavers. I am also earning and learning which is such an amazing opportunity.
You need to love your job in order to be able to want to really progress.
I was lucky enough to enjoy all my subjects during sixth form, Art, Media Studies, French and English. My favourite was Media, followed closely by English Literature.
Being able to adapt quickly is vital in digital marketing as it is such a fast paced and quick changing industry.
I attend training courses in digital marketing at Jellyfish Training in London. These courses are interactive and extremely informative, helping me to develop both my digital and communication skills.
When I was at school, I wanted to do something involved with PR and Marketing. Look at me know!
